ABOUT TRUE GOSPEL SINGERS

True Gospel Singers was founded in 2008 and in just a few years the choir has established itself as one of the best Danish gospel choirs.  We perform a repertoire spanning a large range of styles – including contemporary gospel, traditional hymns and songs by outstanding pop artists.

A Danish gospel choir with heart and soul

True Gospel Singers (colloquially ‘TGS’) consists of 60 experienced singers. The choir holds a high musical standard and a strong theatrical expression. We love the gospel music, the community and to give our audience a fantastic experience.

True Gospel Singers is part the Danish gospel community ‘Vild med gospel’ – in English ‘Mad about gospel’.

‘Gospel mama’

True Gospel Singers choirmaster, Kathrina Brunnstrøm has ‘been singing and directing the gospel music all my life’, as she puts it, – both in Denmark and in the United States. After 3 years as the assistant music director, worship leader and choir director at a large church in Florida, U.S she returned to Denmark in 2008 with a dream to start “the hottest gospel choir in Denmark”. In the spring of 2008 she founded True Gospel Singers with 40 singers. Since then the choir has expanded to 60 singers.

‘Markus the man’ and the gospel band

A good choir comes with good musicians, and True Gospel Singers band is one the best. Our band leader and keyboard player is Markus Lindell (the co-founder of the community ‘Vild med Gospel’ ) is one of the leading Danish gospel musicians. Markus is also the producer of several Danish gospel CD’s with some of Denmarks best and most beloved gospel artists such as Linda Andrews and Julie Lindell.

The other musicians in the gospel band are Tobias Folting (drums), Morten Brunnstrøm (bass) and Philip Lindell (guitar).

On tour and on TV

True Gospel Singers is a busy choir and perform at a lot of different occasions. Singing and performing throughout the country with our own music we are also the backing chorus for various Danish and international gospel artist such as Marie Carmen Koppel, Julie Lindell, James Sampson, Alvin Slaughter etc. At several occasions we have been singing and perfoming in shows on the national Danish TV.
